What's changed between PenguiNet versions 2.01 and 2.10?
The bugfixes, enhancements and additions are too numerous to list in full, so this is a short version: session logging and printing, UTF-8 support (for RedHat 8 etc.), clone connection, X11 forwarding, send commands, drag and drop a profile to the desktop to create a shortcut, improved command line options, clock for window switching bar, remembers path names in SCP, configurable background image, supports Windows XP Themes, better SCP error handling, and lots and lots of subtle bug fixes and enhancements!
What's changed between PenguiNet versions 1.21 and 2.00?
A lot. Here's a list of the major changes: SSH2 added, improved interface, greatly improved SCP (including support for recursive transfers), configurable colour schemes, input bar, window switcher, preset terminal size, double-click word selection, SSH algorithm preferences, generation of Unix format public keys, and support for middle mouse buttons. A load of bugs and other gripes have also been dealt with.
Is the latest version a free upgrade?
For registered users, yes. If you've not yet bought a keyfile, the 30-day trial period applies.
I've lost my keyfile! Can you send it again?
Please mail orderhelp@siliconcircus.com with details of the name and e-mail address you gave when you purchased PenguiNet.
I upgraded and my keyfile stopped working!
Sorry! Some time ago, our keyfile generator produced broken keyfiles under some circumstances. Because of a bug in previous versions of PenguiNet, these keyfiles nonetheless worked - now that the bug's been fixed, they no longer do. Please mail orderhelp@siliconcircus.com with details of the name and e-mail address you gave when you purchased PenguiNet and we'll get a replacement keyfile to you as soon as possible.
What's the difference between the registered and unregistered version?
If you've not registered PenguiNet, you've got 30 days to try out all the Telnet, SSH, and SCP connections you could ever need. When the 30 days are up PenguiNet will stop working, and it's make your mind up time. There's only one tiny difference between the trial version and a registered copy: when you've paid, you get the bonus option of being able to disable the splash screen on startup.
I don't have a credit card, how can I register PenguiNet?
