From: "Ben Preece" To: Subject: [sc-announce] PenguiNet 1.20 released Date: Sat, 7 Jul 2001 10:56:57 +0100 Dear Silicon Circus subscriber, PENGUINET 1.20 RELEASED! PenguiNet, the advanced SSH, SCP and Telnet client from Silicon Circus for Windows 95/98/ME/NT4/2000 has now been updated to version 1.20 and is available to download from the Silicon Circus website: http://www.siliconcircus.com This upgrade (as with all 1.x upgrades) is free to customers who have already bought Penguinet. For unregistered users, a 30-day trial period applies. The major changes in PenguiNet 1.20 are: * SCP CONNECTIONS SCP (Secure CoPy) allows the secure transfer of files to a remote system, using the SSH1 protocol. This has been implemented with an interface that looks, feels, and acts like Windows Explorer. * SOCKS SUPPORT PenguiNet is now able to connect to hosts through a SOCKS 4 or SOCKS 5 proxy. * MINIMISE TO SYSTRAY Keep PN out of the way with the new optional feature of minimising the application directly to the Windows system tray. * BUGFIXES AND UPDATES Lots and lots of improvements, additions, and tweaks too numerous to list here. To read the complete history of changes to PenguiNet, visit the website, or look at the following page: http://www.siliconcircus.com/penguinet/changes10-12.txt After a 30-day evaluation period, Penguinet will cease to function. For unlimited use, please register the program for 15UKP (21USD, 25EUR) at the Silicon Circus Shop: http://www.siliconcircus.com/shop/ If any bugs, problems, or incompatibilities have been missed during PenguiNet testing, please contact us through the website - there's a FAQ to help answer common questions, and new Forums so that you can talk to Silicon Circus directly: http://www.siliconcircus.com/forums/ We look forward to your comments on PenguiNet, and any suggestions you might have for future versions.
